Paige Okey

Born and raised in Newport Beach, California, I fell in love with the water at the age of 5. Sailing and boating are lifelong passions for me, I raced competitively all the way through my senior year of high school and became a sailing instructor. Somewhere along the way I found that my love of class clownery, public speaking and singing could all be combined in a magical word: “acting.” But I was sure not to neglect my beloved boats all while delving into theater, film, and accidentally becoming an opera singer (story for another time).

In my time at UNCSA, I have been involved in many student film productions and performed as ‘Melony’ in “The Cider House Rules, Part 1 & 2.” This performance won me some local acclaim in the Winston-Salem Journal, which hailed me as, “ a head and shoulders standout...Okey is an agile and explosive actor who brightens every scene she enters...” Be sure to catch me in the upcoming musical “And the World Goes ‘Round” and as Frosine in David Ball’s adaptation of “The Miser.”
